"Blue Star in a Red Sky" EP
Recorded at Cedar Creek Recording in Austin, Texas, "Blue Star in a Red Sky" features 4 original co-writes, written by Grace Pettis and Calloway Ritch, as well as a Don Henley cover.

When asked how she and Calloway Ritch started playing together, Grace Pettis laughs and answers, "I poached him from another band.” She was hustling with a pickup band of hired guns on one of the stages at "The Domain," an outdoor mall in north Austin, when she first heard Ritch play. He was in several bands at the time- this one a local Texas country outfit. Ritch stood out, with a strong blues influence and confident, creative improvisation evident in every solo, so Grace hired him on the spot.

After having spent many hours playing together, and off of each other, the two turned to co-writing. Their first song, "Broken Home," with slow-burning lyrics, smoldering vocals, and killer guitar licks proved to them both that their musical chemistry encompassed songwriting as well as performance. The result is their new EP, Blue Star in a Red Sky. The record features Pettis on acoustic guitar and vocals and Ritch on lead guitar.

That collision of two distinctive and different forces to create a one-of-a-kind combination is a fitting metaphor for this new musical partnership of Grace Pettis and Calloway Ritch.
